Saidrasul Ashrafkhanov - Analyst – Energy Supply - Carbon Tracker

Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he worked as the managing editor of the Uzbekistan Energy Monitor, covering oil and gas, conventional power, and renewables.
Saidrasul holds a BA in Commercial Law and an MPhil in Sociology. He is a 2026 Level II candidate for the CFA designation.
Presentation Synopsis:
The oil and gas industry is increasingly pivoting towards petrochemicals as it reckons with the imminent decline in transport fuel demand. Underpinning this pivot are four assumptions, each of which Carbon Tracker finds overly optimistic. In this presentation, Carbon Tracker will challenge the assumptions used by these players and highlight the potential risks facing them, their investors, financiers, and underwriters.
