About Us

OPERA Mission Statement

Established in 1979, the Oil, Petrochemical and Energy Risks Association (OPERA) provides a forum for the interchange of technical information relating to the insurance of oil, gas, petrochemical, power generation and energy transition risks. The membership is drawn from the major Lloyd's and company brokers, underwriters, loss adjusters, solicitors, surveyors, engineers, consultants and similar professions. It is concerned with all aspects of this class of insurance, but particularly the associated safety and loss prevention issues. OPERA holds regular meetings in Lloyd's and other City venues where members meet informally over lunch, followed by a technical lecture by an invited speaker. A remote access option is usually available for members and guests who can not attend in person.
